Almost a year ago now I got married and had a fun DIY wedding.  We hosted it in an old german dance hall that was such a fun venue.  One of my favorite things that I DIYed was some wedding signs to tell people where to go, what to do, or just fun signs for different areas of the venue.  One of my favorite signs I made was a social media sign!

To make these I bought 16×20 chalkboards from Hobby Lobby and cut out the lettering on my Silhouette Cameo.  Because I knew this didn’t have to be permanent I used the Hobby Lobby vinyl which normally I wouldn’t suggest using but for this project it worked perfect.  I then took some burlap colored ribbon to edge them out.

We made signs for the bar and for our menu:

I made two of the most precious signs out of some chalkboards I bought on Pick Your Plum for our dessert table and for the bar:

Instead of a big cake we decided to have a fun dessert table with some of mine and my husbands favorite treats!  We had pies, cookies, cupcakes, and more!

I also decorated Mason Jars for my guest to use that night and then take with them.  I used Oracle 651 on these with our initials and made this cute signs so our guest would know they could keep them also!

Also, one great signs we made was for where people could sit.  We had a big open room and didn’t want people to feel like they had to sit on a certain side so we made this fun sign from a frame my mom found at a resale shop that I thought would be super cute!

Once my wedding was over a friend had me make some fun signs for her wedding also which was in December and Christmas themed.  We made the seating chart and a wedding sign with a blue sparkly ribbon around the edge!

I was so excited about how these signs turned out I decided I wanted to share them with everyone!  Below are the silhouette studio files for the drink sign, the menu sign, and the social media sign along with a PDF with a break down of what fonts I used!  These signs were so much fun to make and I’m excited that I can share them with everyone!

We ask that these be used for personal use and not for sales or shops.  I would love to help other people DIY their weddings like I did mine!  For other DIY Wedding idea check out these post:

  1. Wow – very nice and fun!
How did you make the seating chart? Were you able to easily copy the names from another application such as MS Word? Did you cut everyone single name using vinyl? Any tips and/or suggestions that you can share to make the process easier and efficient? Thanks.
