Last Minute Advent Calendar with Free Printables
One of the best parts of being a mom at Christmas and one of the most stressful parts of being a mom is the pressure to make the holiday season special. The problem may be that there is not enough time and energy to do everything. This is a no stress and very little mess advent calendar. This calendar can be used so many different ways. When my girls were little I would have found it stressful to plan ahead 24 activities or treats for an advent calendar before the 1st of December. The messages could instead be “look under the couch”. When they look under the couch they may find their favorite candy that you bought thirty minutes ago in a rush home after the meeting that lasted 40 minutes longer than planned. The next day the message might read, “look in the mailbox”. The only tricky part to this plan is that you need to make a list of the hiding places before you seal up the packets.
This project was made possible by the incredible graphics that I found at http://thegraphicsfairy.com/. They have the most wonderful graphics.
- 24 6X6 pieces of paper
- Printable labels that can be downloaded here.
In the folder are large and small labels as well as some cute Mickey Mouse Advent Calendar labels.
- Messages to go inside the small paper containers you are going to make
- Sting or yarn
- A dowl or coat hanger
Start with a square piece of paper ( 6×6 sq. piece of paper.). Then simply fold the sides in so that they overlap a little and repeat with the top and bottom. Mine are not perfect, in fact they are a little wonky, but I liked the wonky effect and did not redo them.
