Summer is here so I’m always looking for some fresh recipes to try! I’ve been looking into sorbet recipes and while I was at Walmart a couple days ago I picked up some strawberries, limes, and a can of Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes! I know this sounds like a weird combination but its a perfect recipe with tomatoes! This is a cold and fresh dessert that is perfect for summer!
It’s not only delicious but it is very easy! All you need are strawberries, limes, Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes, sugar and an Ice Cream or Sorbet maker! The best part about using Hunt’s Tomatoes is they use a unique flashtream peeling method that makes them perfect everytime!
The first step is to mix it all up in a food processor or blinder until smooth. Then run it through a fine strainer. You want to do this so you get any small seeds out.
Once you strain it you pour it into your Ice Cream maker per the manufacturers instructions! With mine you pour it in and then let it go for 30 minutes!
Once the ice cream maker is finished you will want to put it into a container and let it chill in the freezer for about an hour. This really helped solidify my sorbet.
The next step is easiest just take it out and serve! This is a treat that everyone will love! It has the sweetness of strawberries, a little tartness from the tomatoes, and a little sour from the lime! It is the perfect combination for a delicious summer sorbet!

- 3/4 lb. strawberries
- 1/2 cup of Hunt's Diced Tomatoes
- 4 tsp sugar
- 1 lime juiced
- 1/4 tsp lime zest
- Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor until it is smooth.
- Strain blended liquid through a fine strainer.
- Slowly add mixture to your ice cream/sorbet maker per Manufacturers instructions.
- Let it mix in ice cream/sorbet maker for 30 minutes or use Manufacturers time.
- Put in a container and freeze for about an hour.
- Then its time to serve!
This is a perfect treat to welcome summer in that everyone will love! It makes me ready for some vacation with my family!
