My fiance knows that I love crafting and he has given into helping me sometimes with some of my crazy ideas that I come up with. Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of wood projects that I love so I thought I wanted to make some of these! I sent him out to find some wood to chop up because the power tool part of my projects is usually his job! He brought me back lots of different size and shaped pieces of wood which made me super excited! So I started on my DIY Repurposed Wood Project!
So the next step was to figure out what to do with them. The small round pieces I decided to make into coasters. Instead of just finishing them I decided to put some chalkboard paint on them for a little something different! I am obsessed with chalkboard paint and would put it on everything if I could!
On some of them the bark was falling off on the side so I had to take some of it off and on some of them there was some moss that I took off. I just tried to clean them up some to get them ready to paint. It did not take long to get all these painted and they turned out exactly how I wanted them to look!
These are going to look great in my living room and I’m also going to give some to my friends as gifts and I know they will love them! The next thing to do was to figure out what to do with these longer pieces.
I decided to make them into chalkboard hangers that you could hang your keys or an apron on!
I just drilled a hole in the back to hang it on instead of using something else. I had to be careful not to drill all the way through the piece of wood. Though I will admit there are some that I did. I then painted the front with chalkboard paint and put a hook in.
I think its a fun and easy project that you can do with something you have. I didn’t spend any money on these because I already had everything required so this was a cheap and easy project that are great for your house or as gifts!
I also came up with some fun ideas for some of the other pieces of wood! I love these and I can’t wait to make more!
