Taking Flowers from Fake to Fabulous | Craft Dictator
My wedding is next year but I’ve decided that I want to get a jump start on some of the table decorations.  I’m very bad at doing things last minute because I get stressed out so my mom and I decided that we would work on a little each month to get them done!  While deciding what kind of flowers I wanted I decided to go with fake flowers.  I really didn’t want fresh flowers that would only last one day and I found these at Hobby Lobby for $5 when floral was on sale.  So you can’t pass up that great price!  So I’m Taking Flowers from Fake to Fabulous for my wedding decorations!

My main issue with fake flowers is I think the leaves look bad.  I think they look the most fake of the flowers so I wanted to get rid of them!  While picking out these flowers my mom was skeptical.  Normally we have the same vision in what something will look like but she didn’t think this would work!  So the first thing I did was start to take the bouquet apart!

Once I took the flowers apart I started arranging them so that they had the right look.  The flowers in this bouquet were pretty easy to take apart with scissors!

I took an old mason jar I had laying around and filled it with moss.  I love the way the moss looks in the jar and I thought it would look great with the green flowers!  Next I arranged the flowers in the moss.  I will say the moss is thick and some times hard to get the flowers to stick in easily but I just worked with it until it would let me arrange them how I wanted.

I know you can still tell they’re fake but I think it gives it a fabulous look that is ready for my wedding!  I can’t wait to show these off!  I love the color of the flowers and can’t wait to show this off!

I also made another bouquet with a burlap flower and some hydrangeas!  I’m so excited to use these with some other centerpiece ideas we’ve had!  My mom and I love making things like this and I can’t wait to get started on everything else for the wedding!

    • I’m thinking about adding some ribbon. I thought about doing the burlap ribbon but I think that would be too much. I got some green ribbon on sale at easter that I think I will try for sure! I think it needs a little extra something too!
