Homemade Ceviche

If you have never eaten Ceviche it is definitely a treat!  This past weekend I was down out the beach with my family and my fiance decided to make some delicious Homemade Ceviche!  According to Wikipedia, Ceviche is a seafood dish popular in the coastal regions of the Americas, especially Central and South America. The dish is typically made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají or chili peppers.

We decided to make our Ceviche with Shrimp instead of fish.  It is very delicious but can be time consuming between peeling the shrimp and squeezing all the limes!  It is definitely worth the time it takes because it is a great dish!

Homemade Ceviche

  1. 3 lbs of shrimp
  2. 28 limes juiced
  3. 1/2 cup carrots
  4. 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  5. 1/2 onion, diced
  1. Peel and cut up the shrimp into small pieces.
  2. Juice and lime juice to shrimp.
  3. Dice tomatoes and onions and add to mix.
  4. Add carrots to mix.
  5. Let sit for at least 45 minutes but it would be better to let it sit for a couple hours.
  6. Serve on Tostada with avocado and salsa.

 We started out by peeling the shrimp and cutting them up.


We then squeezed all the limes.


 We then added the shrimp and lime into a dish.


We then added the tomatoes and onions to the dish.


 We then mixed in the carrots.


We let it sit for about 2 hours and then put it on a tostada with avocado and salsa.


 Ceviche is a fresh and delicious meal that is perfect for Summer!  You will love it and will want more! It is especially good with fresh shrimp and fresh limes! This is a great dish that all of your friends and family will love!
