Over the past weekend one of my cousins got married. We helped with some of the decorations and all of the setting up and taking down! It was so much fun but also a lot of hard work. One of the crafts we created for this event were some Hanging Mason Jars. These were just a little project that added to the space a lot! We were originally going to put these outside but since it was raining on and off all day we moved them inside and they ended up looking perfect!
We used regular pint sized mason jars. I decided to use the plain ones since we were going to put candles in them.
I got a basic wire from the craft store and wrapped it around the top of the jar and then twisted it to hold it in place.
I then took the other end of my wire and put it under the wire around the jar and moved it to the opposite side of the twisted wire. It was easier to put it under where the original twist was and then pull it around to the opposite side.
Now the mason jars could hang, but we weren’t done with them yet!
We decided to twist some of the wire around the jar to give it a unique look and then add some pink beads to match the rest of the reception area!
We then added some stones and some battery powered candles! They ended up looking beautiful in the space!
They were originally supposed to go outside on these fun spindle hooks that were made but because of the weather we had to move them inside!
We decided to hang them above the card table on a stand that we had made from pvc pipe and then decorated.
We hung them with tulle and they gave this table an extra little touch. They looked perfect here and we got lots of compliments on them. These are a perfect decoration for any party!

Oh what a clever idea! I love how they ended up looking. At first I thought those were wax candles and wondered how one would prevent the glass from blackening or breaking, but battery-powered candles work! Nice idea. I’m glad it worked out for you.

This is pretty, it wouldn’t work in my house with how it’s decorated (um.. badly…) but it would be perfect for outside in the summer if I had a gazebo or something.
