Mardi Gras is one of my favorite holidays!  I love the parties and the festivities that go along with it.  This year to decorate for Mardi Gras I thought it would be fun to make a Keep Calm And Party On Printable.  If you haven’t been around people who celebrate Mardi Gras you might not know what it is.

According to Wikipedia Mardi Gras refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after the Epiphany or Kings day and culminating on the day beforeAsh Wednesday. Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday

Mardi Gras is celebrated the most in Louisiana and the surrounding states because it was brought to America by the French.  If you are down in New Orleans on Mardi Gras or many of the cities near New Orleans you can see parades almost every hour and lots of celebrating!  The parades are big and over the top.

The first printable I made was a green one.  This is the one that I think I will probably use to decorate with!

  1. I’ve attended a few mardi gras celebrations. I love finding the baby in the cake for good luck for the next year! I also have a shirt that says the complete opposite of “Keep calm and Carry On”, it says “Panic and Freak Out”. I think its funny. Gets a good response when I wear it.
