My closet needs a major makeover. I have not done a good job of organizing it during the last six months. I have decided that not only am I going to clean and organize it but I am giving it a makeover. I appreciate things that are bright, clean and stylish (cute?). I think with a total closet makeover I would treat my closet with more respect and care. The first step in this makeover is a large metal basket that I found at a garage sale. It was only a dollar for a reason. It had been sprayed with something (dog or cat urine?) and was rusting.
The first step was to spray paint the basket. I used spray paint for metal to help with the rusting.
In planning my closet redo I decided I needed to pick colors so the closet would look pulled together which in turn will make me want to keep it that way. I chose black, tan and green as my colors. I wanted this basket to have a reuseable label because it will be on a high shelf and this will aid in organization. A few months ago Cara and I were at the Restore in Houston and they had some remarkable deals on cabinet and drawer fronts. They were all on sale for fifty cents each!!! I bought some small ones to make into signs (these will be coming soon). I spray painted one to adorn the front of the basket.
To finish the basket I attached the label board onto the front of the basket with small screws and repainted the screw holes. The “blackboard” is not painted on but is blackboard paper purchased at Hobby Lobby.
More on the closet redo coming soon!

I love it! Whenever I can find baskets and the like, I try to scoop them up. I love that you can do so much with them. Paint them any color, attach labels (like what you did), and use them for storage all over the house.
