For Christmas I decided I wanted to make my family all handmade gifts. I have a couple different gifts I’m making but this is one that I’m excited about! I found this tutorial for Coffee Sleeves by See Kate Sew on Skip to My Lou! Check out the tutorial here!
I used the pattern that she had and folded my fabric in half and cut it like she instructed. I cut out two pieces of fabric and one piece of the thermal interfacing.
I fused the interfacing to the wrong side of one of my pieces. I put the two right sides of the fabric together to sew them.
I then sewed around 3 sides and left one of the short sides open. I pulled it through so both of the right sides were facing out and then seemed up the open side.
I decided instead of doing button holes (which I’m not very good at) I would do a little hook and button on them. I sewed the hook in while I was seeming the edges.
They were then ready to put on my coffee mug and ready to give to my cousins!
I gave these to my cousins who were only in for Thanksgiving! I gave them Vanilla in a hand embroidered bag which you can see here. I made the Cowboys Coffee Sleeve for my cousin who loves the cowboys and a print one for his fiance! I’m excited with the way they turned out and I can’t wait to make more. The pattern from See Kate Sew is so easy to follow and makes this a very easy project! Be on the lookout for these in our Etsy Shop soon!
