Cara and I are planning on a series of DIY Christmas trees during November and December. As we decorate for the holidays we will share our trees with you every Saturday. The tree I am going to share with you today has been on my mind for months. As I cut spindles during the last six months I threw the scraps into a basket in the garage. You will see below what a mess I had.

These scarps are what I used along with my two favorite crafting tools to create this tree.

First off I love to drill and glue is really my friend when two pieces of woods aren’t perfect.

The only spindle tree I could find when I searched the web used longer pieces of spindle than what I wanted to use. They used whole pieces and drilled holes in the middle and mounted them on a center rod.

This is what was floating in my head. This is a flat version of what I wanted to create. The only way I knew how to attach the small spindles to the base was my third favorite crafting item, double sided screws!

I wish I had pictures of the tree in stages but I don’t. I took pics with my phone and when I got a new phone recently some of the more recent pictures were missing.
