This week I want to show off some pillows I made this past weekend! I talked about that I needed to make these on Things I want to make Thursday! The original tutorial I used for this easy pillow is on A Curios Chic Life! The pillow in the tutorial below isn’t the same as the pillows above because I also made pillows for a beautiful piece of furniture I’ll be showing off next week, but I’m going to leave that as a secret for now!

So I started off by cutting the fabric to have 1 inch on each side of my pillow. I found that if it was much more than this it was a little loose. On some of them I did a little less than an inch because I liked when they fit tight.
Next I wanted to have a finished end on the flaps, so I ironed the hem down so I would know where to sew. This is the part that will showing so I wanted them to look nice!
I then hemmed the ends.
I then laid my pillow back out with the wrong side out and draped it over so that I could pin it. What I did was get it to where it fit snug and then I pinned three different places on the hemmed part. This way it would overlap how I wanted it to.
I then sewed on both sides. You need to make sure that you are lining up the edges. On one I didn’t have one of the hemmed edges lined up and when I flipped it inside out it was just hanging out so I had to re sew it. Rookie mistake I guess! It probably would have helped to pin the sides also.
Once this is done you are ready to flip it inside out! And your pillow case is done!
Then you put the pillow inside it and enjoy!
As I said before I made two sets of pillows. One I will be showing off next week, but these are the beautiful burlap ones I made for my living room! I found the fabric at Joann’s and fell in love immediately!
Here they are on my couch in the living room. These pillows are more for show then comfort with the burlap but I think they look great!!
Thanks for coming by and I hope to see you next week when I show off my other set of pillows!!

That fabric is awesome!!! I love it!
Found you from the Saturday Share
Yeah I was buying fabric for the other pillows I was making and then I saw the burlap and couldn’t resist!
I have a mother who can sew anything, I try my best bit they always seem to look less “neat” Thanks for the tip!
Dropping by from Saturday Share.

These turned out so great! I’d love if you’d link up to The DIY’ers! http://homecomingmn.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-diyers-31.html
I linked up!
I just did a pillow cover tutorial over on my blog mid-week last week! I did a no-sew option though I don’t have a sewing machine – fabric glue for me! I absolutely LOVE the fabrics you chose. These came out great!

Its like you learn my mind! You appear to understand
a lot approximately this, like you wrote the ebook in it
or something. I think that you simply can do with some %
to drive the message home a little bit, but
other than that, that is magnificent blog. A great read.
I’ll definitely be back.
