Today I want to talk about my living room redo! Its not completely done but it’s close enough! I moved into my new apartment almost a month ago and I’ve been working on trying to figure out where to put my furniture and what I wanted to do with my living room. This room has definitely taken me the longest! So before I moved in here this what my living room looked like.
It’s a pretty basic apartment living area. The way the kitchen is though it made it hard to figure out exactly how to put my furniture. I have a pretty large couch that fit into my last apartment perfectly but there was a lot of moving around until I got the furniture where I wanted it! I also decided to do a gallery wall. I had talked about this on a Things I Want to Make Thursday and I finally did it! So here is what I have so far!
This is the left part of my living room and my gallery wall! Disregard the fact that the fluer-de-lis is missing part of it. I haven’t glued it back together. It was the only fatality in the move! Most of the stuff on this wall I had up in my previous apartment. I have a black leather couch so I like the black frames in the living room. I also just got the set of brown chairs this weekend at an antique store in Galveston. I’d been looking for something to put in this corner and the minute I saw these I knew exactly where they need to go! You can also see to left of my couch a table my mom made out of an old suitcase and a frame. You can read about it on her blog here.
Here is just the gallery wall. I think it turned out nice and I’m very happy with it! From my apartment and some of my other projects you might notice a Texas theme here. I’m a little proud of my home state!
Here is the doorway and my chevron table which you can see my post about here. I think this turned out pretty well also! You might be able to tell that I love black white and green. I just can’t help it! Also, I didn’t like the fact that I had a fireplace and it didn’t have a mantle so I went to ikea and made my own mantel! I want a place to eventually create a cute fall mantel like everyone else!
I hung up some pictures and put my elephant book ends up there with some of my penguin series books! Also you might notice my repurposed drawer which I made into a coffee table tray with a big map of texas. You can read about the project here. That is it so far for my living room but I have a couple other projects in mind that might end up in here! Thanks for coming by!
Also, Craft Frenzy Friday is still partying so if you want to link up go here!
