This week I am going to show off a table my mom (Obsessive and Creative) and I worked on.  I will say that the majority of it was her work but I helped! :)  This was my birthday present from her!
It started off with some cabinet doors I got off of craigslist for free.  We thought this big long one would be a good table!
My mom made the frame before I got there on my birthday weekend.  She has gotten very good at this!
We then put the table on top and it was a perfect fit!
We then started putting on the legs.  We used these spindles that she found for cheap!
Once all the legs were on it was time to attach the cabinet door on top and start painting!
I primed the whole piece with white primer and then started taping off.  I used Cheveron Frog Tape on the top so that the cheverons would be more even.  I thought if I tried to make the cheverons myself they might not turn out as pretty.  Though I will say the tape was harder to get straight then I thought.
We then painted everything else black and took off the tape.  Originially we had part of the spindles white but we thought once we looked at the legs that they would be better all black!  My mom also antiqued this piece a little bit.  She is much better at furniture then I am!
I put the piece in my apartment with an old window that I have had for a while and some lanterns I have.  The green lantern I recently got from Ikea and I love it!
I added a piece I’ve had for a while under it.  This holds all of my quilts and I think it looks great under the table!  I put this in the entry way in my apartment and I absolutely love it everytime I walk in!  Thanks mom! :)

  1. You can’t beat free and from that freebie you’ve created a perfect entry table. Great job! I must live under a rock…I did not know there was chevron tape available! I am so happy to learn this. Thanks so much for sharing! Blessings, D@TheShadyPorch
