One of my favorite tailgate/holiday snacks are the sausage balls you make with bisquick. I know there is nothing special about them but with football season starting I thought it might be a good Whip It Up Wednesday! It also is going to be my first Whip It Up Wednesday, because when I was deciding what I wanted to make this week I figured out I had already packed up all my flour, sugar, and other baking goods. So almost anything else was out of the question! These are the trials you face while moving!
1 lb. packaged ground sausage (any kind you want to use)
3 cups baking mix ( I always use bisquick)
4 cups of grated cheddar cheese (or I guess any cheese could work)
Some people also put pepper or other ingredients in but I usually just keep it plain!
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Mix all the ingredients in a big bowl. There really isn’t an order you have to put them in. Its also easier to mix this up with your fingers instead of a spoon or mixer. The mixture will probably be crumbly.
Make 1 inch balls out of the mixture, squeezing the mixture as you make them so it holds together and then rolling it between the palms of your hards to make the ball. They do not have to be very far apart because they don’t spread very much.
Place the balls on a baking sheet and bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until they are golden brown! You will probably want to spray your cooking sheet because these can stick easily.
These are super easy to make and also super delicious! They are an easy and fun tailgate food and you won’t be able to stop eating them once you start! If you like to link up I will be co-hosting Craft Frenzy Friday here with Obsessive and Creative.
