Among the things my mom and I made over my birthday weekend this is becoming one of my favorites! My mom found these old drawers and took off the appliances for me. There is nothing special about these drawers. Here is the before.
Then I took some basic primer and painted the whole thing, so that I could cover up the brown because I decided I wanted to paint it turqoise!
I then picked out a color from the large collection of paint my mom is hoarding and I decided to go with this pretty turqoise! I painted the whole thing one color and I love this color everytime I look at my tray!!
Next I decided I was going to decoupage the bottom with a map from the big national geographic book my mom found for $1! This one I decided to do a big Texas at the bottom! I will say that I’m a very proud Texan!
There was a line in the middle from this being two seperate pages but I thought this added a little charm to it. Or thats what I’m telling myself! I decided to put this on my coffee table either with some books on it or some glassware maybe. It might also just house my tv changers for a while! Either way I love love love the way it turned out!! I’m in love with these map projects we worked on and I can’t wait to post more of them for y’all to see!!
Great idea! I have some old maps that now I don’t have to just toss out I would like to invite you to my new weekly linky party Share Your Stuff Tuesdays. It’s on the blog now..hope to see you there!
What a great idea! I am always looking for new uses for old drawers, I have tons of them! Thank you for sharing at Redoux, I am featuring tomorrow Party starts at 5:00 EST.

That’s adorable! I might do it with a smaller US map and put a gold star over the cities where all our relatives live. Might make a neat conversation piece in the living room and cool teaching tool for my son. Thank you for all the super neato ideas on your blog!
