So this summer I decided I wanted to grow herbs out on my balcony.  I had seen online where people have taken old pallets and made vertical herb gardens, and since I don’t have very much space I decided this is what I wanted to do.  I went on the hunt for a free pallet which I found at Tractor Supplies and I got all the herbs that I wanted to plant at the Dallas Farmers Market while I was visiting Dallas!  The first thing I did was take the pallet and put a backing on it so the dirt wouldn’t fall out of the back.
Then I added the dirt.
Then I started planting my herbs.  This was interesting trying to get them all in and hope that when I stood it up it didn’t all fall out.
Here is the pallet outside right after I planted it.  Everything has gotten a lot bigger since I planted them and it looks much fuller.  My patio isn’t big so I tired to get as many plants as I could.  I also planted squash, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and some flowers.
I love my pallet herb garden and if you don’t have very much space this is a great way to house your plants!
